Just read the article on flea control and I dont understand what all the fuss is about.
Our Jack Russell’s Deena & Rosie have never had fleas, (16 years) thats right, never.
When we had the Foxhounds and Peter would remember, sometimes they had fleas from the other hounds they hunted with, so I determined to rid the kennels of these nuisances and I did.
I used Asuntal to soak the kennel areas where the little blighters layed their eggs and no fleas ever since.
Do you really need to be advising your cliental about flea products when they can get rid of them without too much fuss, I’m not really impressed.

Thanks for your comment. Asuntal – now that’s a product i haven’t heard mentioned for a long time! A relic of the bad old days of organophosphates that are decidedly environmentally unfriendly, quite toxic to dogs and people and unfortunately, subject to a increasing resistance in the flea population. That is why we don’t use them anymore. I have found over 30 years that some people like yourself are lucky with their pets and they never seem to have a flea problem and others have a continual problem. We have definitely seen an increase in flea problems this year (although it has dropped significantly in the last 2 months due to the cold weather) so yes. I do need to advise clients about flea control. There is no one product which suits every situation so we always take it on a case by case basis. Getting rid of fleas is not always as easy as it was for you due to a number of factors so we will continue to work with clients on an individual basis to find a solution that works for them.
