Medical Treatment
Our aim is to provide the most up-to-date and appropriate medical service possible, using a variety of diagnostic tools including laboratory work and imaging to achieve a diagnosis and develop a tailored treatment plan for your pet.
We treat small animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs.
Veterinary Science is constantly improving, and we have a strong commitment to continuing education for both vets and nurses. This includes post graduate courses, in house seminars, external conferences and use of internet resources. This ensures that we are all up to date on current treatments and can provide your pet with the very best of care. If your pet has to stay with us for any length of time, we have cages which are both clean and comfortable.
In House Pathology
Our in-house pathology unit, combined with a rapid turnaround external pathology laboratory, means we can get blood results in as little as 20 minutes ensuring we have all the information we need to treat your pet appropriately.
CT
We are pleased to be able to offer our clients access to high level imaging right here at the clinic! We have partnered with Insight Mobile Veterinary Diagnostics to provide this scanning service for your pet to recieve their CT scan at a place and with people they are familiar with. You will receive a CT report by a Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist within a few days.
Radiographs
We use digital x-ray technology in our clinic which allows us to digitally enhance x-ray images, offer you a digital copy, and forward these images on quickly for specialist assessment if required.
Digital x-ray also gives instant results, which means less time your animal has to spend at the clinic, and less stress. X-rays are used to assess bones, but also look for changes in the lungs and abdomen such as altered organ size or the presence of a foreign object.
Sometimes sedation is required in order to achieve positions required to take the images and keep your animal relaxed. If this is the case, fasting requirements will be discussed with you beforehand.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a non invasive and safe technique that allows us to look inside your pet’s body and helps us assess the internal structure of bodily organs. Ultrasound can help with the diagnosis of problems in the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, prostate and intestines including tumours, blockages, pregnancies and bleeding.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is an adjunct treatment for a variety of conditions, particularly soft tissue injuries. It has been shown to significantly speed up the rate of healing after injury or surgery to joints, muscles and tendons.
We have a Class 4 laser unit which is capable of treating any size dog or cat quickly and painlessly. Sometimes just one treatment is needed but often twice weekly treatments are used until the condition improves.
